China Begins FMeXtra™ Digital Radio Broadcasts

April 13, 2007, San Jose, CA. Digital Radio Ex[ress (DRE) announced today that Hunan Broadcasting Company commenced digital radio broadcasting with DRE’s FMeXtra digital radio system. Hunan Broadcasting with 7 FM radio stations serves Hunan Province with an estimated population of 100million. Hunan Broadcasting’s 57kw FM station in Changsha, capital city of Hunan, is broadcasting its regular FM programming simultaneously with two FMeXtra digital channels of stereo quality programming. Mr. Derek Kumar, DRE’s VP Engineering, indicated that the FMeXtra digital broadcasting came up effortlessly and in less than 1 hour Hunan Broadcasting’s world class station was on the air transmitting quality stereo programming. DRE indicated that their recently announced alliance with TCL, one of China’s major consumer electronics group, provides the foundation to bring FMeXtra to a large number of China’s radio stations in the coming months.
